First Day on the job!

So today was my first day working at the Zoo. I was so so so nervous. The whole week I've been in like a bad mood and really quiet because I was so nervous. The only thing that was making me nervous was working the front gate at admissions.

Well, when I got to work today I chatted with Derek, my boss, for about 15 minutes. Just went over rules and what not. Then, I went to the front gate and watched how they worked everything. I was there for about 2 hours. I didn't work anything, I just watched, which made me so relieved. It will for sure take some time getting this down. Its easy but you have to get use to it. Theres so many things you need to remember and to ask them. Lol. It'll be good though. I wont start that for a while though. After I was there, I headed over to the carousel. My friend, Catharine, who helped me get this job, was working the carousel and so I was with her there, the rest of the day. It was good. It was really easy working the carousel. Its free, so people just come and get on, then you have press down on a peddle and press the start button, lol! Yay, so easy! You will have time to kill when you are there because it is winter and kids are in school. So, you might get a kid here and there to ride! Its fun though talking to the kids and to see how excited they are to be at the zoo!

The boss doesn't train anyone. He sends you to a place and you either figure it out for yourself or there will be someone working with you, so you bug them with a bunch of questions. Hah. In a few weeks I think I'll have everything down, besides the front gate! Lol. I just hope those few weeks go by quick!

That is it for now. Just a little update on how the jobs going! I can't wait for my first pay check. Running shoes, here I come!
