Well hello there everyone! I have not been on here since May! I just haven't done much that is blog worthy. I have just been in school. Just another random bit..I have not had a haircut since May either...just a random thought! I am in dyer need of one!
Anyways, I am on break right now from school and loving it! I went home for Christmas and spent time with family and just sat around. I came to SLC to see Zeke and his family for New Years, his family left a few days after the new year. Since being here I have tried to eat a little healthier, I seriously have an addiction to sweets..candy, brownies, cookies...whatever has sugar in it. It is bad and I have tried to take it down a notch and I just crave the sweets bad. I will get in a bad mood if I don't get sweets during the day. NOT GOOD! Most of you know I am a health major and so I kind of am a hypocrite because I try to help others with their health, I give tips and things I have learned but then I do the opposite. Zeke has wii fit plus and so I have been using that and my arms and back KILL TODAY. Boxing is my favorite thing to do and I wish I could just take a boxing class. Such a good workout! Zeke has been trying to become healthier and so we have tried to not eat out a lot and try to get in workouts. I love it!
I recommend to everyone...GET HEALTHY! If you're not into exercising much, start with a day of just walking around the block then the next day do two blocks and soon you will be running miles and miles! Make sure you are always moving. Yes, of course you can rest and sit during the day but sitting for long periods of time is hazardous to your life. MAKE SURE YOU MOVE! I also encourage if you have children, get them moving. Go outside with them, play ball, tag, water fights...anything that gets them away from video games and junk food. You are the parent so be the example to them to be healthy. Teach them about which foods are healthy for them and what aren't. You shouldn't rule out all foods. Putting a restrictions on foods can only make you crave them more. Moderation is the most important thing when consuming foods. I start to think of children not only because I am wanting to go into being a child's dietitian but also because of www.biggestloser.com. They are addressing childhood obesity this season for the first time. I think it is super important to keep your children moving and eating right. We all want children to have a happy and healthy childhood and if they have that they will have a healthy adulthood.
The U.S. is the fattest country in the world. Reason? We eat more than we should...obviously but there is a reason it is known as mindless eating. Here is a video describing mindless eating. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxKmgQZU6Hw&feature=relmfu Makes you think, eh?!
Think about what you do! GET HEALTHY! GET FIT! ...JUST DO IT!
