Feeling Inspired

Today is my day off! I awoke around seven and lazed around in my room watching the news, travel channel and other miscellaneous things. I love waking up and really having nothing I need to do(because my life is SO busy...) Taking my time getting ready for the day and veggin' out on whatever!

This morning, on Q 13 Fox News, Chase Jarvis was on. He is a from Seattle and a professional photographer. We had recieved a magazine in the mail a couple months ago and he was the main topic for it. Since I've been getting into photography, I've been reading and looking at any type of photography things I can. I read the story about him in the magazine and instantly loved his work. On the news they were talking to him about his newest project; The Best Camera is the One You Have with You. Its his new book of over 1000 pictures he took simply with his Iphone. He was saying how he loved how most of the pictures were out of focus and not perfect. They showed some of them and even though they weren't in focus, they were still really good and very artistic. I love it! He is my favorite photographer. I posted the link to his website to the right of this post! Check it out! I also posted a link to my friend Deborah Hurlburts blog. She is an amazing photographer also!

After I checked out his website I was just browsing through different pictures of mine and of some others. I really think photogrpahy is what I want to go into. I have a long way to go, but I am so ready to learn everything about it, plus more. Now if only I could get a good camera. Right now I just have my simple point and shoot camera. I'm saving my money for a Nikon d90, will take a while but I need to get it! I really can't take any classes without my own camera. They do loan out cameras but have to give it back, whats that! I want my own to where I can take with me everywhere I go and not have to give it back! Hah! Some day!

That's so exciting that you want to pursue photography :)! I have to admit I'm a little jealous that you'll be taking photography classes. I tried looking at some here at the Y but you have to be a visual arts-photography major to even think about it. I'd love to see some of your photos :) Good luck!

If you are truly inspired and really want to get in to photography then you take the classes with no camera if they lend them out. You still save money for your own, but get experience in the mean time. That is awesome you have found photographer's that inspire you, but it sounds more like excitement than inspiration because you aren't doing much to pursue your goal. Calm down, E, don't get mad . . . if you want practice with ours, come read up on it and play with the settings. There are a lot of settings and I only use one.
